Delilah always loved to attend local festivals, carnivals and state fairs, just like this one being hosted by Belgrade, not just for its supernatural locals but for the humans living in the surrounding areas. Everybody was always smiling, there were fun rides to try and out and cool games to play, not to mention the food was designed to clog your arteries and fill your heart with warmth. Best of all, there was cotton candy. She couldn’t think of a time when she hadn’t been equipped with a constant sweet tooth, and cotton candy had to be one of her favorite things ever. It was light, fluffy, and always came in such cool colours, which was a lot like Delilah herself. While normally she dressed depending on her mood, always decked out in strange patterns and shades, today her outfit had one reoccurring theme; Batman. While she knew that the best thing in the world was to always be yourself, if you had the chance to be Batman, well . . . then you always had to be Batman! Duh! She had on a pair of high-waist black shorts, an oddly designed Batman shirt, a hat and even a glow-in-the-dark belt buckle. Her flip flops also had little Batman logos on them, but she wouldn’t be wearing them for much longer. Delilah was waiting in the tent for a musician singing an original song and playing acoustic guitar – who happened to be one of her students – to finish up, because she was on deck to perform next. In one hand she was holding onto her electric violin, purple in colour and given the shape of a regular violin but comparatively hollow to her usual instrument in appearance. When the young musician finished up, he was greeted with applause, men and women and younger kids clapping, having thoroughly enjoyed his playing. He thanked everyone before taking his instrument off to the sidelines, moving towards Delilah as he did so.

Bouncing on her tiptoes, she moved to give her student a great big hug, still bouncing a bit as she let go. ”That was amazing! You were so good! Wonderful job!” she told him, holding his face between her hands. Like most of her students, he towered over her, and he smiled down at his teacher gratefully. That was when the master of ceremonies began to announce that Delilah Giodano was next, and Delilah bent down to her violin case to pick up her bow, ready to rock. She also kicked off her flip flips before heading to the center of the tent, her student and everybody else clapping for her. She could hear some of the younger kids cheering. To them, she had been known as “that dancing violin lady!” for the past few years she had been performing here and in other random spots around town. Today she had a real treat for the kids, and a fake wall had been set up, covered in a white cloth. The light hit her to cast a shadow on the wall. She was paired up with a witch who had been part of her crew back when Delilah had been on tour, one that had always lent a hand to the special effects of her live performance and of her music videos. The trick that she would be aiding Delilah with today was one that they had pulled off for the music video of the song that Delilah was about to perform. To the human eye it would’ve looked like a mere video editing trick, but the only editing that had been done was to eliminate the aura of bright light that emanated from Delilah at all times, displaying her as a light elf, which usually set humans who were uncomfortable around supernaturals on edge.

Her background mix began to play from the speakers set up around the tent. This was a song that Delilah had created quite a long time ago, as part of her first CD, and it was always a crowd favorite, especially when magic was involved with the visual effects As Delilah began to play, moving about as she did and dancing to the tune of her own instrument, her shadow that was cast on the wall began to move independently, sometimes playing violin and sometimes dancing on its own. The kids giggled, amazed at the sight. As Delilah played, the glow of white light that always emerged from her body was suddenly much more radiant, for she was always at her best and brightest when she was performing for an audience, her violin creating a beautiful melody that her body couldn’t help but dance to.

So before this guy became the man that he is today, he was a young boy, whose father was a violin maker in Italy. Whether or not he learned how to craft or play any instruments is completely up to you. Either way, he was great friends with Delilah, whose father was the advisor for a very wealthy family in the area. The boy’s father was also her violin tutor, and was the first to teach her about how the instrument works and how to play. Then came an onslaught of violent massacres, clearly the work of vampires, and when the fear of supernaturals in the community was too great, Delilah and her father fled from Italy, and that was the last time she ever saw her childhood friend ever again.

This wanted ad is fairly open – the name, personality, face and occupation/major are entirely up to you – but there are few specifics needed for this plot. First, that this guy’s been around since at least 1861, when Delilah was born, and was also friends with her when she was a child in Italy. The other thing is, while his supernatural species is up to you as well, it would be best for the plot if he was affiliated into a more light-centric species, so a demon, vampire or dark elf would not be ideal for this guy.

These two got along amazingly well when they were young, and Delilah would be beyond ecstatic if she were able to reunite with him again. One driving factor for this plot, however, would be that the feelings that he has for her run deeper than just mere friendship. There may be some opportunities for some romance between these two, but I’m thinking that Delilah and this guy won’t end up together. It would be her hope that they could always be friends though.

Unlike with the childhood friend character, Delilah and this man don’t have to have any past history, although if you would like for them to have met in the past, then that is completely acceptable as well. This man admires Delilah for her incredible talent, and is himself musical in some form (however that may be is completely up to you. I’ll admit, having him as a composer would really fit the bill, but this is completely open to you). This man might not be the best influence in the world, and is perhaps involved in some sort of dangerous work or has a dangerous past, but Delilah can’t help but be drawn to him anyway.

The only real requirements for this man is that he be a little bit older than Delilah, maybe around 200+ years or so, and that he be associated with a darker supernatural species, ie vampire, demon or dark elf. And if he’s involved with music in some way, all the better.

If the request for her childhood friend gets taken as well, then there will definitely be a rivalry between these two, because drama is always fun. But I’m hoping that it is this man that will get the girl in the end.

Hi y'all! KC here!

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't disappeared or anything, I promise. Things have just gotten a little busy lately. I went to Toronto for a day trip recently, I've been working on applying to become an in-school mentor come September, and my online course is just about finished, so I've got a couple of things that need to be finished up.

I will be getting to replies as soon as I can, I promise. It might just take me a week, two tops, for things to settle down enough that I can get back to doing replies.

This goes for all my charries: Emerson, Ebony & Delila

Delilah was born November 25th, 1861. She was born to a middle-class father, with her mother dying during child birth. Even though they weren’t a royal family, her father worked as a royal attendant, and it was important for Delilah to receive a good education and to have a myriad of accomplishments to her name. Her father hired a pianoforte teacher for her, but Delilah was a stubborn child’ she refused to learn. At a young age she became friends with the son of a violin maker, and during one visit when the three of them were in his father’s workshop, his father played a song for them, and Delilah was utterly entranced. After that, she insisted that her father hire her friend’s father as her tutor in order to teach her how to play the violin, and after enough nagging he finally agreed.

It was around this time that a clan of vampires tore through Siena, murdering innocent people in cold blood, ripping them from their beds and draining all of the blood out of their bodies. They had also teamed up with a group of demons who were enjoying the murderous atmosphere enough to chip in just for sport. A young member of the royal family was one of the victims. It was after this that the tolerance for supernatural members of the community basically vanished overnight, and Delilah’s father packed up their possessions and they left under the cover of nightfall. Delilah never saw her friend, the son of the violin maker and her tutor, ever again.

They soon relocated to Spain, where Delilah was hired another tutor, and she continued to excel with her instrument. As she grew, Delilah grew more and more curious about what her mother had been like, but her father usually refused to tell her anything of importance, still pained by her passing. But when digging through her old trunk, Delilah found some items that gave her more information about her mother: she found a well-worn pair of ballet shoes, a photo on her mother and father’s wedding day, and a photograph of her mother when she was with child. It turned out that her mother had been a dancer at a ballet company when she met her father. He had fallen in love with her at first sight, and approached her later backstage with a bouquet of flowers and a ring.

Delilah possessed a great desire to learn more about her mother, even by becoming more like her. Delilah sought out training in dance, ballet specifically, and when she was of age she was recruited to join a ballet troupe. Her father did not want her to go; he knew he would be lonely without his only daughter, and he was afraid that she would be judged as a member of the supernatural. She went against his wishes and left to pursue dance. She enjoyed dancing, but found that with all the rehearsal and performance time, she didn’t have time to pick up a violin anymore, which pained her. While traveling, she received word that her father had fallen ill, and she left the troupe without another thought, even though she knew she couldn’t come back.

Her father was dying, simply from old age. He was up there in the hundreds now, she knew that much, but never actually knew how old he had been living. Delilah was there to comfort him in his last days before his eyes closed for good. A deep depression hung over Delilah like a cloud after that, through a good 50 years of sadness. She used music to soothe her during that difficult time. To her surprise, as she began to excel more and more with the violin, she found it unnecessary to stand and be so rigid when playing. She learned to move around, like the dancer her mother had been, and it created the kind of performance that was new at the time but felt like second-nature to Delilah.

No proper orchestra would accept her, partly for her way of playing, unable to keep still when the music consumed her, and partly because of what she was. But Delilah was the brave sort, and was as stubborn as ever. Delilah studied other forms of dance, learned music from all over the world, and even began to write her own as the world was enveloped by the modern age. Once the 2000’s hit, she realized that she had been born in the wrong era. Delilah embraced the new world with open arms. She was given a record deal and made 2 CD’s full of original songs. She also created music videos and shared them on YouTube after its invention. One of the biggest hobbies she took up that was unrelated to music, however, was cosplay.

Delilah had always possessed the urge to dress up, and be the best dressed at any occasion. When she discovered the idea of cosplay, dressing up as a character from a show or game or movie that you adored, it became her newest hobby. She soon put together medley’s from her favorite games and shows, and as her fame grew she was able to collaborate with other artists, both human and supernatural. Delilah also loved going to conventions in the most magnificent cosplay as well, always having a blast among fellow enthusiasts, or as it was put in this day and age, fellow geeks and nerds. Even though Delilah faced major prejudice regarding what she was, she never let it get to her. In the end she took the job offered to her by Belgrade University because she wanted to be hidden among other supernatural, but because it would be a brand new experience for her. Delilah had always been a quirky soul, and it showed in her outward personality and the way in which she performed.
